The numbered parcels in the map below are parcels of protected open
space in town. A parcel of protected open space can be selected on the
map in two ways:
| (1) | select its name from the list in one of the item-selection devices to the left of the "Description" buttons in the control panels at the top and the bottom of the map; its location will then be highlighted on the map |
| (2) | select it directly on the map using the mouse; it will then be highlighted and its name will be displayed in the item-selection devices in the control panels at the top and bottom of the map |
Selecting the "Description" button activates a window that displays detailed information on the parcel currently selected. For your convenience, a copy of the control panel is available above and below the map.
The Shirley Greenway Committee has put together a guide to hiking trails on many of these parcels. Copies of the guide are available at the Conservation Commission office. Copies of the trail guide are also available at Hazen Library or the Historical Society.
The darkness for the shading on the parcels of protected open space
increases as you move from left to right. This has no significance.
