Women's Power: Because women had to recognize
that legal progress alone didn't translate equal rights
into practice, a new independent women's movement
formed in the Federal Republic of Germany.
Its most strident and well-known representative was
the journalist ALICE SCHWARZER, the publisher of
"Emma", a magazine "by women for women" and the
last independent popular feminist magazine.
