Massachusetts State House
The state house is not very conspicous. It's the building with the gold dome between the tallest brown building and its right neighbor. The state house is at the top of Beacon Hill. That and the and surrounding Boston skyline are seen from Cambridge, Mass. This was a rainy day. Fortunately this part of Memorial Drive had sheltered park benches. As I went to leave I noticed a mysterious woman in a car parked behind me seemed to have been watching me at work.
When I was a graduate student at M.I.T. I commented in a letter to my Grandmother Burkhardt on the beauty of this view with the gold dome at the top of a heap of brick buildings. It has always haunted me in a gentle sort of way.
