Astronomy Building, Williams College, Williamstown, Mass.
A thunderstorm passed through while I was doing this and broke out with a substantial downpour and spectacular lightning. I was sketching from under a tree which gave me a shelter from the sun and minor showers. I took refuge from the storm's visit in the former entrance of a school building behind the one I was drawing. It seemed made for my visit. I could sit on the steps under the eaves without worrying about blocking anyone's way since the entrance was walled over. I sketched a tree in the school yard while I waited for the storm to pass over. The tree beside the astronomy building seemed to have a lot of character as well.
