The leaves and blossom of the lupine are remarkable. Ralph Perkins introduced me to this plant. John Rounds has a nice crop at his house. This plant was another find from outside the Wild Oats Food Co-op I think. It died after a few years. Luckily I got another at the Gardeners' Exchange this year (2001 a plant odyssey). I planted it at another location. It seems to be surviving, but not thriving really.
This was done with conté crayon or chalk. A brown wash of watercolor composes the background.
