Emma A. Maynard Memorial Marker

It's located in an abandoned cemetery in Savoy Mountain State Forest, Savoy, Mass. The marker actually faces the other way.

The advent of industrialization and the opening up of better land out west resulted in many marginal farm lands being abandoned in Massachusetts. Cellar holes and old grave yards are about all that remain in some areas. The state acquired some of the land to create some nice parks.
